I can finally use "Outfit of the day" as my title with some pictures taken today! This floral dress probably makes up 2% of my wardrobe filled with solid (mostly black) clothing. Felt like i stood out of the crowd town. Heh.

This day off was very simply spent with my partner (from work & we did many alcohol promotions together). We had lunch in town, did a little shoe-shopping, a whole lot of chatting & finally coffee at Spinelli's. Spinelli's coffee Spins drink are awesome! My favourites are Cookie Spin & Mocha Spin. :)

Oh these orange patent loafers were definitely gaze-drawers! Partner said orange is a difficult colour to pair with but hey hey, anything his partner buys, his partner can work it to its maximum potential. Hoho!

If you're someone i know reading this tell me if my hair colour suits me please? I don't know what to make of it.

Was reading through my JC days' posts & came upon the most prominent period - when i was attached to this boy. We were together for 6 months & I loved for him for another 5 years after we broke up.

I am able to discuss about my past with him now because all those feelings had wilted. But oh, he takes the effort to understand, it's endearing. Pity he couldn't love my flaws then. I on the other hand, couldn't prioritse. Age was the problem.

To look back now, everything seemed so silly.

Right after praying Ah Ma & i returned to Er Gu's house at Chai Chee 'cos Ah Ma wasn't feeling well. Bro & er Gu went to 大波 (no idea where it is) to get fish meat from a famous stall there.

At Chai Chee, i was assigned the task of slicing the prawns and dicing the water chestnuts FINELY. No joke all that chopping.

Er Gu kneaded the fish & pork & then added all the ingredients in! She's a trooper for using bare hands. I couldn't have stood the smell of raw meat on my hand (it's really doesn't wash off that easily)!

Perfectionist at work. I was the slowest for spending time distributing the meat evenly on the dried tofu skin.

Bro the wiper. Dried tofu skin are very salty due to preservation purpose.

There, my perfect 'lil ngor hiong.

Couldn't take the sputtering oil so i grabbed bro a newspaper to shield the extended arm. Tsk!

20th January, a couple of days before Chinese New Year, Ah ma, Er Gu, Bro & I went to pray.

This below is the massive (& very wealthy i reckon) 光明山 monastery at Bishan.

Offerings for the Gods consisted of flowers, fruits, drinks, rice etc. Each candle cost $10, (i think) is to bless the buyers. Ah ma bought 1 for Bro & i.

Passed by this eye-catching muraled wall (which probably stretched 150m), whilst on our way to another mini temple which homed another god, to pray.

Last stop was this huge-ass canteen for vegetarian breakfast. It was a really simple soup noodles with leafy greens, carrots, 2 kinds of mushrooms & vegetarian ham. The contents were pretty mushy, i guess it's good for the elderly - less chewing.

A Step At A Time

Thursday i ran out of cigarettes. A pack was gone in 3 days and that's the quickest ever.

Friday my immune system got defeated, i came down with a 40 degrees fever.
No smoking-crave, hence no new pack.

Saturday was that heartbreak bomb. Gosh, the turmoil, felt like my head re-wired for breakdown.
Then i thought, "if i could do without a smoke for 2 days, i can do it today as well". Smoking didn't begin with the frustrations, though over a couple of years it was abused to relieve stress (it helps with laboured breathing), so Saturday's heartbreak bomb cannot deserve the chain-smoke.

Today, Sunday, the 4th day, i hung out at the usual Simpang with my friends. They all smoke. I didn't have much faith in myself. "if an intense urge to smoke hits me, i will try my best to succumb", but it didn't come.

It feels like ages but it has only been 4 days. Persevere for health, money & complexion. Go me!

There might be instances when i cannot tolerate the other party's nonsense and i could have voiced it out directly but i chose to stomach it. Why, considering being the in-your-face bitch? Well i value the relationship too much to want any cracks. Upset i may be, i have to remember a relationship is shared - though i'm hurting, not everything's about me - so i drown the fire.
It's something i put on the pedestal, my prize.

初二 of Chinese New Year was the usual visiting at 大舅's house at Lengkong Empat. I like how bro & i are always colour-coordinated. Seriously unplanned!

So the family always buys the yu sheng set but add extra toppings. This year's yu sheng is kinda vegetarian because last year's was overloaded with abalone, so much that no one could finish.

Anyhow, the aunties added hand-peeled pomelos & shredded mangoes. The green goo on top is green tea sour plum sauce, yummers!

To no one's surprise i've been shopping a lot. Finally on Monday i did some physical shopping with Mum & Bro (all the time i've been shopping online).

So... I visited H&M for the second time - but did a good scour this time - to hunt for CNY clothing. Seriously CNY is THE BEST excuse to spend on clothes! :')

These below are the favourite picks! Alas, there wasn't my size! Hence to commemorate ever setting my sights on this rubbery knitted sweater, i camwhored in the dressing room. Moreover, i queued a good 10mins for my turn so i thought i better make the people outside queue 10mins or more!

At the end of the expedition, i bought nothing. DAMN.

Anyhow, it's NYE today.

Just today, i purchased 3 items from M.A.C.

Firstly, i had to get the essential M.A.C brushes. Make It Perfect Brush Kit/ Special Edition.
They're small and compact, so really convenient for storage at home, even for touching up when i'm outdoors.

Second MOST IMPORTANT purchase is the Brush Cleanser because no one should use dirty brushes & risk a zit outbreak! Plus point, the brushes dry really quick!

Lastly, a lipstick - something i always have to get when i visit M.A.C. I've always been aiming for a Saint Germain, but after trying it on my lips, i decided that it was too gaudy a pop of bubblegum pink! Hence i got Pink Nouveau. Like "nouveau" suggests, totally romantic!

Our intended brunch was to be at Torte (via hungrygowhere) but upon arrival at the modest cafe, it was closed! Absent-mindedness wasn't that bad after because we crossed the road & jay-walked diagonally to another restaurant called Fine Palate. These were all along waterloo street, just in front of Bras Basah MRT.

The restaurant was small but nicely-decorated with simple furnishes. The air-conditioned area contained only about 8 tables & conversational privacy is restricted.

Lou & i shared a Breakfast Cook Up. Scrummy delight! Everything down to the cherry tomatoes was excellent! A Mocha for me & Hot Chocolate (as usual) for him, both mediocre.

For dessert i chose a Lemon Tart. Mmm! Citrus creamy pastry with fresh raspberries & sweet custard sauce at the side.

Caught "One Day" starring Anne Hathaway * Jim Sturgess thereafter. Pretty draggy initially but the ending will get you all choked up.

WOW! I finally seen a real-life geoduck! Only ever seen them on TV.

Lou & i were being random whilst waiting for our table at Italiannies.

Food was mediocre albeit fresh. Video will explain everything else.

Hair dye is one of salons' money maker. I thought i'd contribute.

My stylist suggested a natural brown. A mix of ash brown - the result of mixing 2 colours, which he showed me in his book of hair colours, to get the middle result.

Haven't been so subtle with my hair for a long. Haircuts used to always results in an entirely new radical hairstyle. Below, i merely shortened the back and thinned the sides.

Then on with the dye for 30mins.

The roots getting destroyed next.

Dye on scalp felt like someone scratching my scalp really hard. Jesus, it burnt! This photo below was 3mins after all the roots were coated. It was left on for 15mins. My poor scalp finally numbed after 10mins through.

Turned out with a tint of orange under light. My hair reflects different colours at several angles, i love it!

My stylist calls the colour "the ang moh kind of brunette" LOL

I love myself sometimes for not throwing away make up i don't utilise because i finally found a use for the brown eyebrow pencil - to match my brows with my hair!

I met someone new from NAFA again, his name's Donovan. Fish & Mel came down to my 2nd home, Simpang, too. Seriously everyone knows i go to Simpang too often! Even my colleagues could exclaim "OMG... Veron, Simpang again?!" But it's such a nice place to chill till the wee hours!

After Simpang we drove to Parkway hoping to play pool but the shop was closed! We experience a creepy encounter where the 2 games machine outside the shop suddenly came to life! :((

To shake off the scare, JT, Manda & i headed to JT's temporary habitat at Geylang to finally smoke the cigar her Uncle presented her. Cuban cigar is expensive & it really is acquired taste. All i got was a dark chocolate aftertaste.

Yesterday, Asvind, Dani, Amanda, JT & i headed to her Dad's KTV at Bon Riche. Downed 3 glasses Chivas & green tea, 2 tequila shots & 2 lemon drops there.

Then to Play at around 2.30am where to music started to suck. Had 1 more tequila shot each, which brought our high to really good level. Then at 3am++ we cabbed our intoxicated asses to Nana. Beer killed us. On our way for breakfast, epic puke-fest began from the cab all the way till after we reach Simpang.

It's always a joy to meet the little ones from my paternal side because they're well-disciplined. :) Obedient kids get a place in my heart :P

So says the title, below is me, Auntie Veron with my cousin Jeremy's baby boy, Litton. I'm an aunt for the third time! :) First time was to Michiko, second to Brandon.

1) This is my Ah Ma with Michiko! She calls my grandma "Lao Ma". LOL. Lao Ma sounds extremely old.
2) Michiko with her Ah Ma, who is my 大姑, who is my Ah Ma's first daughter.
3) Finally Michiko & her mummy! My cousin Fanny, is 大姑's first daughter.

Strong has its drawbacks.

Since my turbulent teenage years i've mastered self-problem solution. Then over the years i learnt concern, & greatly appreciate it - it's like electricity jolted my heart into palpitation.

Now, i silently harbour a deep yearning for some words of comfort - from people who care about me - despite my strong front.

I wished i had Twinkles. We could conquer the demons of the heart. :(

Oh but i can't take this other thing. The drawing & pushing is too much - that's what attachment does.
Am i so bored i'm actually mind-fucking myself? I'm out of sorts then i'm perplexed then i'm irate - this is too much for my weak heart.

Need to dispel the demons! I'm gonna lay some bricks.

I'm quite addicted to vlogging but this below is so informal because i'm entertaining myself. My brother Edison was being indifferent while lil step-brother Sherwin always seemed like he has something stuck in his throat - his replies take ages!

Sherwin is as skinny as i was when i was little. But he's too tan, oh too tan for his half Chinese half Pinoy self.

13th August was Darran my maternal cousin's 8th birthday (& Cliff's 21st, Happy 21st :) !)

The birthday party was held at NSRCC & it was pretty lavish with suckling piggies, Martell cannons & heaps of presents (for us when we participate in the games)!

Oh & i must mention the entertainment organized by my 6th Aunt (mum of the spoilt Darran), which consisted of the comedic host Uncle Jerry, dancing by kids & singing by some auntie/ relative i haven't seen before.

This side of my family can stir up some kind of craziness & fun!

Check out the video below! It starts with Uncle Jerry being forced to wear the feathery shirt personally sewn by 6th Aunt. She the one in orange, spot her! Then moving on to my brother in blue & distasteful hair (i'm sorry HAHAHA) & OH! I love the part where i addressed my 舅舅with such bright innocent eyes.

By the way, the theme of the party is Angry Birds. LOLOL!

Got to the chalet with Jack who u will see in the video above, all battered by the bad surprise that he's gonna host the party. Well he got away with it in the end.

Pitiful me got visited from the lil bitch of pains, the cramps. Hence the lack of proper photos.

I added some annotations to this second video. Could hardly translate because i probably only have a Hokkien vocabulary of 10 words! But enjoy still! :)

Why, we do sports of course! Like cycling & rollerblading at East Coast Park!
Present last Sunday was Janelle, Jammy, Theresha, George, Winner, Yvonne & Dani!

The bicycles cost $6/hour + 1 more free hour while the rollerblades cost around $6/hour, $12 for 2.
Please ask for knee pads because rollerblading is such a hazardous sport! George & Yvonne fell & scraped their knees. A bloody mess it was, yikes!

ECP round 2 later in the afternoon again i'm stoked! :D

& then we cannot end without a video! Pardon my bad language. It mortifies my every time i watch the video. D:

This is Tiger, the resident (Jalan Pari Burong) Foohouse kitty!

First photo of her, she's around 1 month old i think. So precious but a timid stiff kitten.

Second photo, she's around 2-3months old? Her size double & she's extremely inquisitive & playful! Oh & that was a few days ago when the night was pretty humid & Tiger decided to slip into the fridge when the shop Auntie opened it. I think Tiger chilled in the fridge for a good 10mins!

Anyhow... These 2 babies came in today! Hohohohoho! :D
